Camp Cariboo grew out of the fabulous summer camping experiences of Tom Knowlton and Mark Baldwin, and the creative genius of producer and co-creator Janis Nostbakken. John Matlock and Paul Francescutti were our two directors extraordinaire. The television series was produced at CKCO-TV in Kitchener, and at summer camps across Ontario, Canada. The television series is, alas, now out of production after five seasons. Camp Cariboo may step in front of the television camera again soon; In the meantime we look forward to having visitors to our new home on the Internet. In case you're wondering, Camp Cariboo is a fictional camp. We have been told, though, that every one of the thousands of wonderful camps around the world has its own Uncle Wes and its own Keeners!
We gratefully acknowledge the help and contributions of Don Willcox, Dan Bailey (Keener Cam), the CKCO crews, Bark Lake Outdoor Education Centre, Ontario Camping Association camps Camp Tawingo and Camp Wanakita, and -- most of all -- the many campers who helped us by playing games and attempting impossible tongue twisters! Finally, thanks to campers and camp counsellors everywhere. Keep singing 'till we meet again!
